As Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs) approach the final stage of their training journey - the OSCE - it is completely natural for this milestone to bring a mixture of excitement, anticipation, and nerves. Preparing students for this moment is never the responsibility of one organisation alone. It is the result of close collaboration between training providers and awarding organisations.

We are pleased to announce VetSkill is partnering with Derby College Group (DCG) to deliver apprenticeship assessment for three key land-based apprenticeship standards.

Neurodiversity refers to the natural differences in how people think, learn and process information. It includes people who are autistic, dyslexic, dyspraxic, have ADHD, Tourette’s and other neurological variations. Workplaces have a role in challenging these misconceptions and creating environments where all staff feel understood and supported.

Some milestone news for all parties involved! Our fantastic centre Chester Veterinary Training Centre (CVTC) is now home to the first seven learners to pass the VetSkill VTEC Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Emergency and Critical Care).

On 19 November 2025, VetSkill was thrilled to collaborate with Paula Bryan from the British Isles Grooming Association (BIGA) on a virtual Dog Grooming CPD event designed for both trainee and existing dog groomers.

We are thrilled to share that VetSkill is expanding its apprenticeship assessment provision, now offering assessment for Level 3 Team Leader, Level 3 Detection and Protection Working Dog Specialist, and Level 4 Animal Training Instructor.

The first ever National SQP Week - a nationwide celebration of the vital role Suitably Qualified Persons (SQPs) also known as Animal Medicines Advisors, play in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of livestock and pets across the UK, will take place 5-12 June 2026.
