VetSkill attends BVNA Congress 2024 - Highlights
This month, VetSkill was lucky enough to attend BVNA Congress 2024 at Telford International Centre. Join us as we take a look back and explore the highlights of this fantastic event.
VetSkill’s Virtual Reality OSCE World
Working in collaboration with Immersive Learning Factory, we were proud to showcase an innovative ultra-modern method of OSCE preparation, brought to life by the power of Virtual Reality (VR).
It is well documented that for many the best way to learn is by "doing". According to research by PWC, it was recently found that VR-trained employees are up to four times faster to train than traditional classroom learners, and 40% of VR users feel more confident applying what they’ve learned.
With this in mind, VetSkill’s VR OSCE World offered learners the chance to “do” and test their readiness for exams through a technological experience that realistically mimics our core Veterinary Nursing OSCE tasks.

Wellbeing Stand
BVNA Congress also presented the perfect opportunity to shine a spotlight on our brand-new wellbeing and bereavement OSCEs, alongside our fantastic wellbeing resources.
The team enjoyed getting to answer questions and receive face-to-face feedback regarding the new OSCEs, which have been available to centres and learners since the beginning of October 2024 and are set to start being assessed in April 2025.
Delegates also had the chance to review our wellbeing resources, which are designed to support learner wellbeing by breaking nerves on assessment day. We were thrilled to see these be met with great reception.

What is BVNA Congress?
BVNA Congress is an annual event hosted by the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) offering networking and CPD opportunities through a series of lectures, workshops and exhibitions.
The ultimate goal of the event is to support and celebrate veterinary nurses across the UK, bringing together this wonderful community all under one roof.
It was a joy for the VetSkill team to engage in so many meaningful conversations with not only existing VetSkill learners and educators but also prospective affiliates, who were interested in learning more about our highly respected qualifications.
And, of course, we can’t reminisce about BVNA Congress 2024 without mentioning all the goodies and treats we enjoyed along the way.
The team were thrilled to hand out so many of our special VetSkill pens, trolley keys and notepads, along with cakes at VetSkill’s “Cake O’Clock”. We can’t forget about those delegates who proudly wore a VetSkill sticker to be in with a chance of winning our wellbeing hamper.
Thank you to everyone in attendance who came to visit either of our stands and made this event all the more memorable.
