Career Hounds registers first learner for VetSkill VTEC Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants
We are delighted to share the news that the first learner for the VetSkill VTEC Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants has registered at Career Hounds, a newly approved VetSkill training provider based near Sheffield.
The development of this new qualification was employer led, working in conjunction with founder of Career Hounds and tutor, Terri Hardwick, to design a course that includes the essentials for working within the sector contemporarily.
Terri Hardwick, says:
“After being part of the team to develop the new VetSkill dog grooming qualifications, I am so excited to be able to deliver this. We worked hard to ensure the qualifications are modern and peerless, and they provide learners with a foundation of knowledge and practical skills to provide a superlative start to a new career. I am confident that my experience and new premises will add something special to the learner’s journey and experience”.
Learners will be working with the team at Career Hounds’ brand-new premises to gain real-life working experience with the centre’s large and varied client base, alongside training on the qualification.
The VetSkill VTEC Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants is designed for those currently working within the dog grooming sector, holding either employed or voluntary positions, or for those seeking future employment opportunities within it.
Throughout this qualification, learners will gain the knowledge and skills to provide bathing, basic grooming and drying for various dog breeds, coat types and health conditions. Learners will successfully adapt to the individual needs of the dog and customer and will cover all aspects of the grooming process.
Career Hounds has over fifteen years of experience in the dog grooming industry and over 6 years of experience teaching dog grooming qualifications.
We look forward to following new learners’ journeys on this qualification. A big thank you to Terri for working with us to rigorously develop it. We are thrilled to have many more collaborative plans with Career Hounds in the pipeline.
